Since purchasing in 2018, the Freund Family is dedicated to converting the land to a genuinely sustainable farm. We are focused on limiting inputs to the farm system and sourcing any inputs as locally as possible. Our practices are directed towards nurturing diverse ecosystems and limiting wastes.
A Gentle Hand.
At Vitae Springs we believe in transparent winemaking. With minimal intervention viticulture and winemaking, we are able to proudly say everything that goes into the final product; from the land to the bottle.
Historic.
Vitae Springs is a historic vineyard that is family owned and operated. The oldest vines on the property were planted from “suitcase cuttings” from Germany in 1978. The historic Grüner-Veltliner, Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, and Pinot Gris are some of the oldest planted in the country.
Tasting Appointments and Farm Tours.
Come by the farm and let us give you a tour of the historic vineyard and orchard. The seasons will being their respective gifts, with daffodil fields in the spring to Pears and Apple orchards in the fall. There is always a surprise at the farm!
Please book an appointment by email for a tasting and tour with the winemakers. We are currently tasting all current vintages and are only tasting outdoors in the vineyard. All tastings are weather permitting. Please wear appropriate attire.
